Wrenchrat™ is now ready to fill the gap of a complete, premium, stainless steel twin turbo system at competitive pricing for the generation-1 small block Chevrolet. Designed to fit Camaro, Nova, Chevelle and numerous other vehicles of the 1960's -1980's. The Wrenchrat™ Twin Turbo headers are a unique 4-into-2 design. Many hours of engineering and fabrication was spent in the development of this kit to provide the most efficient, tightest fitting and eye-catching design possible. The reason for a 4-into-2 header design over a 4-into-1 is to get the turbocharger's to respond quicker, less turbo lag. By having one exhaust pulse follow the next keeps the individual exhaust pulse energy intact. A 4-into-1 header design loses the individual exhaust pulse energy by allowing the pulse to expand when it enters the collector, therefore decreasing the pulse energy. By taking advantage of the individual exhaust pulse energy we can offer a larger turbo that has the response of a smaller turbo. Wrenchrat™ Stage-1 Twin Turbo system for generation-1 small-block Chevrolet engines. The system utilizes premium 321-stainless hot-side, aluminum cold-side, all hoses, nuts, bolts, clamps and hardware are included. There are a few size options of turbocharger’s available with this kit, please call us so we can properly size the turbocharger’s to your application.

Test Engine 1:

The test vehicle already had the proper fuel system to support 1,000+hp of unnatural aspiration. The only changes made were timing and swapping to a blow-through 750cfm carb built by 'Carburetor Solutions Unlimited'. This test was done with smaller 61mm ball-bearing water cooled turbo's and a turbo friendly camshaft. This test engine was a complete budget build and unfortunately we have no before turbo install dyno numbers.

After Wrenchrat™ SBC Twin Turbo Install

The test vehicle already had the proper fuel system to support 1,000+hp of unnatural aspiration. The only changes made were timing and swapping to a blow-through 750cfm carb built by 'Carburetor Solutions Unlimited'. For this test we ran larger 68mm ball-bearing water cooled turbo's to test response, with this engine setup and N/A camshaft the response was much lazier. The 63mm turbocharger's that are offered in the kit are a very good inbetween turbo that respond quickly and have the ability to make big horsepower numbers. With the proper turbo friendly camshaft this setup would have made more power. For this test we ran 110 octane (sold from our local gas station), water/methanol system from Snow's Performance and 24lbs of boost.
